These systems are advertised on some sites as "Salt less Softeners" but this description is misleading and not correct. Traditional Salt Based softeners are the only equipment that removes the scale and provides Soft Water - water that is free from calcium. There are many additional benefits that a Water Softener can provide. However, there are cases where a Water Softener may not be the best option and a scale conditioning system suits the requirement

NeutrAcalC falls into the category of Scale Inhibitors and is very affective in what it does. These systems are designed for mains quality water as the water going through the unit must be of potable quality. Please contact us via the technical email and send a copy of your test analysis if you have a private supply (Well, Borehole, Spring etc.) before purchasing as there are factors that can prevent or damage the resin.

So how does it work?

The Technology
Each bead is covered in imperfections called media templates that attract minerals (Limescale, Carbonates) and combine them to form micro-crystals that slowly grow. They then break off and float freely through the system. These crystals make their way through the plumbing system without sticking to pipes, fixtures, valves or heating elements.

NeutrAcalC can be used where you want to stop scale forming and can be placed at point of use or point of entry.

Unlike Polyphosphate systems, NeutrAcalC media effectiveness is not affected by temperature

In most cases for small to medium houses, the NC817 is the usual choice.

Media does have a life span and this ranges from 1 year when used as point of Use and up to three years for Point of entry. Cost of replacement media does have to be taken into account
