Purolite® C107E: High-Capacity Weak Acid Cation Exchange Resin for Potable Water Softening

Purolite® C107E is a high-purity, high-capacity polyacrylic weak acid cation exchange resin, designed to treat water for potable use. It excels in the dealkalization and softening of water, efficiently removing bicarbonate alkalinity, reducing water hardness, and enhancing taste. The resin's carboxylic acid functional groups provide high chemical efficiency, with fast kinetics that ensure rapid uptake of alkaline earth metals, including calcium and magnesium.

In addition to its primary use in potable water treatment, Purolite C107E is also effective in selectively recovering transition metals from aqueous solutions, making it versatile for both drinking water and industrial applications. The treatment process produces carbon dioxide from bicarbonates, imparting a pleasant taste to the water and reducing the potential for scum or scale formation. The resin is insoluble in acids, alkalis, and all common solvents, further enhancing its durability and reliability in various environments.

Key Features of Purolite® C107E

1. High Purity and Capacity

Purolite C107E offers a high total capacity of 3.6 eq/L (78.7 Kgr/ft³) in its hydrogen form, making it an effective solution for water softening and dealkalization. Its high purity ensures safe and efficient treatment for potable water applications.

2. Fast Kinetics and Chemical Efficiency

This resin is engineered for fast kinetics, ensuring efficient removal of contaminants with minimal contact time. The carboxylic acid functional groups enhance chemical efficiency, particularly in the removal of bicarbonates and other weak acids.

3. Versatile Applications

While primarily used for potable water softening and dealkalization, Purolite C107E is also effective in selectively recovering transition metals and removing trace quantities of toxic metals from wastewater, offering a cost-effective alternative to chelating resins in certain applications.

4. Resistant to Common Solvents

Purolite C107E is insoluble in acids, alkalis, and all common solvents, ensuring long-term stability and durability in a wide range of water treatment systems.

5. Certified for Safety and Quality

Certified by the Water Quality Association (WQA) to NSF/ANSI-61 Standard and approved by the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS), Purolite C107E meets stringent safety and quality standards for use in potable water systems.
